Online Running Coaching
Structured running coaching designed to help you train consistently, stay injury-resilient and build endurance without extreme mileage or rigid schedules.
As an online running coach, my role is to provide personalised running structure supported by strength training, recovery planning and ongoing coaching guidance, all adapted around real life.

What online running coaching looks like
Running plans on the internet often assume life is perfectly predictable.

They assume you always sleep well, never get sick, never travel and have unlimited time to train.

In reality, most runners are balancing training with work, family life and other commitments.

Working with an online running coach means your training plan is built around that reality.

Your coaching includes:
-
a personalised running programme designed around your goals
-
adaptable training schedules that adjust when life changes
-
integrated strength training to support injury resilience
-
recovery planning to help manage fatigue
-
regular feedback and coaching support
Rather than simply following a static training plan, you receive a structured programme that evolves as your training progresses.

The aim is not to maximise mileage for the sake of it, but to help you train consistently and sustainably over time.
Coaching for different running goals
Running coaching can support a wide range of goals and experience levels. Some athletes come to coaching preparing for specific races, while others simply want more structure and consistency.
Coaching can support:
Marathon preparation
If you’re preparing for a marathon, structured coaching helps balance mileage, recovery and strength work to support long-distance performance.
Endurance development
For runners building endurance gradually, coaching focuses on sustainable progression and long-term consistency.
Trail and ultra running
Athletes training for trail events or longer distances benefit from careful fatigue management and strength support.
Returning to running
For runners coming back after injury or time away, coaching helps rebuild training volume safely.
Depending on your goals, coaching may function as a marathon running coach, endurance running coach, trail running coach, or ultra running coach, but the core approach remains the same: structured and sustainable progress.
How online runnning coaching works
Running coaching follows the same structured process as the rest of my coaching services.

We start with a detailed consultation to understand your running background, goals, injury history and lifestyle so your plan reflects your reality.
Regular Check-Ins

We review your progress regularly, manage fatigue and adjust your training to keep you improving without burnout.
Personalised Plan

You’ll receive a tailored running programme with structured progression and integrated strength work aligned with your goals and schedule.
Ongoing Support

You’ll have ongoing support throughout your coaching, with quick feedback and adjustments as your training evolves.
The aim is simple: remove guesswork and give you structure you can actually stick to.
Who coaching is for
Online running coaching is suitable for a wide range of runners.
It may be particularly helpful if you are:

a beginner runner looking for clear structure
returning to running after injury or time away
a recreational endurance athlete wanting to improve consistency
looking for a sustainable approach to running development

Education, not just coaching
Coaching doesn’t stop at programmes.

I believe people deserve to understand their bodies, their training and their nutrition, not just follow instructions blindly. That’s why education is a core part of how I work.

I also host the How To: Fitness podcast, where I break down common myths, explore the evidence behind popular fitness trends and have honest conversations about our health (without the hype).

Real experiences from people who’ve built sustainable progress through structured, evidence-driven coaching.
“I can't recommend Michael Ulloa enough! He was such a great trainer to work with, even on my crummiest days he'd get me laughing and being more kind to myself. I learned a tremendous amount from him over the 8 months we worked together, both about exercise and nutrition (protein!). His integrative app was easy to work with, and his take on the diet industry is next level. Count yourself lucky if you are able to work with him!; professional, patient, genuine.”
Kim C
“I worked with Michael during six months and cannot recommend him enough. He provided me with so much knowledge, content and nutrition advice, always working together on my goals and setting a enjoyable variety of work outs, with regular calls every week. I would definitely work with Michael again!”
