So it got to the end of the summer and I was not happy with how I looked or how I felt about myself overall. I knew that there was a new gym opening up at the end of Sept so thought I would embark on an body and mind overhaul. 
 

I had seen Michael's posts on Instagram and found his fitness and nutrional information relatable, easy to understand and jargon free! So decided to go for it and enquire about online PT training with him! I had embarked on PT training before but always had them there with me during sessions pushing me on.

But this time I thought if I can do it myself with the support on the side as such, guiding me and advising then I would more likely stick to the changes forever more. 
 

Michael didn't disappoint in providing me with all the tools to succeed and making these life changes. In just 3 months I couldn't have expected in my wildest dreams the transformation!! From the weekly check in chats via Skype, to the random texts after I've had a hard session or keeping me positive during any doubtful times I had, tweaking my eating habits and explaining macros and now I know protein is king in my world!!! lol
 

The programs have challenged me, made me sweat A LOT!!! But I've seen the progress physically in myself, definitely stronger physically and mentally. And I love weight training! Yes ok the effort has come from me but the tools were provided to me by Michael, he is passionate, really wants his clients to make lifelong changes, and for his clients to make the most of the services he provides by striving for success and putting the effort in. Also to strip the fitness industry back to show that anyone can become fit and active, it's not just for the extremely attractive people that social media sometimes portrays but for the everyday man or woman that wants to make a personal change!!!

Today I finished my three and a half month training program. I'm over the moon with the results and have Michael Ulloa to thank!

I set out to lose a bit of body fat and over the last 3 months I have not only surpassed my goal weight but I've become far stronger and more toned than before I started. I've also learned a lot about health and exercise throughout Michael's excellent approach to personal training. Michael developed my program with the key component of simple mindfulness - take more of an interest in your diet and the nutrition behind it, take control of your weekly exercise regime and, maybe most importantly, have fun training.

Michael taught me about the values of proper nutrition i.e. everything in moderation, but mostly eat healthily and drink plenty of water. These things I've usually struggled with but Michael laid out how best to approach that part of my life, as well as putting together varied and fun workouts each week. Each workout was meticulously put together for me to focus on upper body, lower body or core strength. This helped massively as before I was one of those guys that just looked at everyone in the free weights area and decided to hop on a treadmill instead of getting involved in weight training, which I've now learned, incidentally, is far more fun to me!

Michael's holistic approach to personal training has helped me so much in such a short space of time and I plan on keeping it going on my own now. I would absolutely recommend Michael to anyone interested in hiring a personal trainer and if you're looking for help with nutrition as well.

Michael was exactly the help and support I needed!

 

After putting on so much weight during my pregnancy which had been centred around building unhealthy eating habits and shocking portion sizes I found myself after years of always not eating when stressed that I had started to comfort eat for the first time in my life and I didn’t know why or how to change this; I had always been a healthy eater and had always exercised and felt in control of my body for years. Everyone kept telling me to be kind to myself because I had just given birth but I knew myself that 3 months on that I needed help to feel like me again and I was struggling to gain control myself.

I dislike quick fix fad diets as I know the heart is about lifestyle and healthy habits. So many PT trainers seem to be wrapped up in themselves promoting how amazing they are are and from my experiences before, I felt like a PT session was a punishment session to my body and would just end up feeling rubbish about myself and also sore than loose motivation but Michael is an absolute magician!!

Michael has been the most amazing support in encouraging me to do what I love which is swim, walk and go to classes I enjoy - I hate the gym and what I see as regular tiresome workouts. Michael also made me realise that my portion size was out of control and has given me the most amazing go to recipes and not to mention a better understanding of my daily food intake and how that fuels and work for my body.

His also been someone to lift me up when I’ve hit rock bottom! Listened to me moan about how hard it is trying to be healthy when I’m breastfeeding and looking after a tiny human getting up in the night endlessly half asleep and not to mention the start of the most horrendous monthly cycle 🙈 and how that affects us woman and again with food and energy!

What’s great is that I feel like Michael has some how hit a reset button in me! My whole attitude has changed and I feel like me again.... all this in just 3months and I’ve lost about a stone too!

HE IS THE BEST!

I have a lot to say about Michael, I don't know how to make it brief, but let me try.

I met him during my postgraduate studies in Edinburgh. My friend recommended him to me, knowing that his training programs are based on balanced and healthy life with an efficient nutrition plan. I took his 3-month-long online program. First I hesitated a lot about the program being online. However, in our very first call he showed his true professionalism coupled with his kindness and friendliness and cleaned all the question marks on my mind. He never advertised me any kind of fitness product, never advised me to buy certain supplements, or to go to a certain gym. This approach gave me the impression that he is not interested in getting people's money, but more concentrated on getting good results from his trainees.

Our fitness program was aiming weight loss and was based on two main issues: effective daily exercises and a good nutrition plan. He was checking my results weekly and analysing my results accordingly. If you are kind or a person like me who hates rude people with strict rules under the veil of "discipline" Michael is the trainer you need! If you fail to follow the plans, he never gets angry or frustrated; but tries to explain you that you are making an effort to have a result and immediately adjusts the plans according to your daily habits. So he encourages you more rather than upsetting you.

In three months, he wrote me 3 different programs and he was always ready to answer any kind of question I might have, regardless of how ridiculous they were. When I said I was not able to do the exercises, he sent me videos explaining the details of the exercises immediately. And since he is not money oriented, although our program has finished, he still keeps my account for me to access my training plans and he answers some core questions about fitness online.

Thanks to him, I am feeling very healthy and shaped, although I am not one of his trainees who lost a lot of weight in tiny periods. But I am pretty sure if I follow his programs perfectly, the good result will automatically come.

I would like to thank him once again, for all his help and support on me having a healthier life. I am looking forward to having perfeclty settled to my new city and new life, so that I will start training with him again in the near future.

I'd been following Michael for over a year on IG when I decided to drop him a message and ask about his PT online service even though I was still not a 100% sure I will ever trust a trainer again (lol).


Oh well, I'm soooo glad I did! I wanted his help to learn a few new exercises to take me back to the gym. I got quite a lot more: I learnt A LOT of new exercises and how to combine them to make the best of my workouts; I pushed myself to lift more; I learnt how to get a better, more balanced diet...


I've been suuper motivated through the whole journey (and still am) so I can't recommend enough to train with him (although, be aware you'll be SORE). It's been a great experience and if I feel like I need another push in the future, I'll be picking up the phone to Michael fooor sure.

I have been training online with Michael for three months and I’m really happy with my results. I have been eating so much more than I was before, but with Michaels advice and guidance I am now eating the right things and changing my body shape. Michael always takes in to account my preferences when creating my workouts and is happy to tweak them if necessary. Michael also gave me access to a fabby app, where I can track my workouts and my progress with photos and measurements.
